Practicing nurses have first-hand experience regarding the effects of healthcare laws and regulations in providing quality care. This gives the nursing community a unique perspective on healthcare policy. The American Nurses Association (ANA) is in part an advocacy organization, charged with using these insights to set policy and influence healthcare legislation.
